Prayers have gone north, south, east and west

During a Concert of Prayer in a church this Sunday in Mainz I saw a picture of bright blue sky. A plane flew straight north leaving a white trail. Then a second plane flew direct south also leave a white trail. Then a plane flew west and another east, both leaving white trails.

At the end of the concert I shared this picture with the group. Like the planes, I told them, our prayers have gone north, south, east and west.

The the worship team sang, “Shout to the north and the south, sing to the east and the west, Jesus is Savior and Lord, he is Lord of heaven and earth.”

They had planned to sing that song earlier, but skipped it, not knowing why!!!

Riverboat Guest needs met

Riverboat Guest needs met

During a recent 48 hour trip back to the States for a citizenship interview, courtesy of Delta Frequent Flyer Miles, I had the idea to raise $500 on GoFundMe to help cover the cost of refreshments for the guests our Riverboat company invite to the Cafe onboard in order to share Jesus with them. But the hours flew by and I did not get to it, nor even tell Rachel about it, who had flown back with me to sort out urgent house keeping matters.

Rachel happened to mention about the Riverboat Cafe outreach to a friend. Eager to help with the hospitality to see people come to Christ, she called her husband, pulled out her checkbook and wrote a check for $500.

“Could you come and share One Wish with my family group,” asked Haiko, who is doing the line-up for the Riverboat in this his home town of Mainz in Germany. They all piled into our Riverboat Cafe.

From the youngest to the oldest (can you spot the baby?), I gave each one a wristband and a leaflet. They were so excited to see this simple, friendly way to share the good news. I challenged them to each show the wristband to one friend this week and share the gospel with them.

“Something just happened in my heart.”

On our last day in the Netherlands, I walked into our Riverboat Cafe. Two of the 25 Bible School students that I had given the One Wish training to a week before, came up to me. “We have just shared the gospel with the wristband and Noah is ready to trust in Christ. Can you do that part?”
I asked Noah if he was ready to take God’s hand. He said he was and I led him in prayer. He asked forgiveness for His sin, took God’s hand and said that he wanted to go God’s way not his way. After he had prayed, I looked at him. I could clearly see Noah was earnest. “Something just happened in my heart,” he said. I knew he had been born again.
Meeting Jan & Martien Today

Meeting Jan & Martien Today

Jan & Martien came onboard the Riverboat berthed in Dortrecht, Netherlands at 7:30 this morning to fix the lift. Over coffee, I gave them each a One Wish wristband and said that later after their work, I would like to show them what the four pictures meant. Later this morning over a second cup, I explained the four pictures. Folding his arms over his heart, Jan (on the left) said that he was once like me with the Lord, but so many bad things had happened in his life, that his heart was closed. But Martien’s heart was wide open and he prayed with me to put his trust in the Lord.
